Ogham

Ogham is a very old way of writing that was used by the ancient people who lived in Ireland and parts of Great Britain a very, very long time ago, before they even had books or pencils to write with! They used it to mark important dates, keep records, and even carve messages onto rocks and stones.

Now Ogham looks a bit weird because instead of letters like we use now, it's made up of little lines and dashes that can be straight or slanted. These lines represent different sounds and are carved into stones or sticks in a special way so that they can be read from left to right and top to bottom.

So, if you wanted to write the word "tree" in Ogham, you would use three vertical lines and some little diagonal lines across them. It might look something like this: ||| ////.

Even though it might seem strange to us now, Ogham was a really important way of recording history and some people still use it today to make jewelry or as part of their cultural traditions.
