On the rocks

When grown-ups talk about drinks "on the rocks," they mean that the drink will be served with ice cubes in it. These ice cubes are made of frozen water and help keep the drink cold. Sometimes, people might add a little bit of alcohol or flavorings to the ice cubes, called "infused ice" to make the drink taste even better. So, if someone orders a whiskey on the rocks, it means they want a glass of whiskey with a few ice cubes in it. Yum!
