Open-source architecture

Open-source architecture is when the plans, designs and documents used to create a building (or other structure) are shared with the public. Instead of hiring an architect to create the plans from scratch, people and organizations can use an open-source plan that another architect has already created. This could be used to create the same structure over and over, or it could be used to create a variation of an original design. In either case, people have access to free designs and plans for building, which makes it easier for more people to build more interesting structures.
