ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Opposite lock

Opposite lock is when you turn the steering wheel to make your car go in the opposite direction of where it is sliding. So if your car is sliding to the right, you turn the wheel to the left. It's like trying to balance on a bike - if you lean too much to one side, you have to steer the bike in the opposite direction to stay upright.

When you turn the wheel in the opposite direction of your car's slide, it helps to straighten out the car's movement and get it back on track. This is especially important when you're driving on slippery or wet roads, where your tires might not be able to grip the surface as well as they usually do.

Opposite lock can be tricky to do, and it takes practice to get it right. But it's an important skill to learn if you want to be a good driver and keep yourself and others safe on the road.
