ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Opposition to trade unions

Trade unions are organizations made up of people who work in the same industry or type of job, like teachers, factory workers, or construction workers. They work to make sure that their members get looked after at work, like making sure they get a fair wage, have a safe place to work, and have rights like vacation time and paid holidays. Some people don't like trade unions because they think that they give too much power to workers, and that they make it harder for businesses to make profits. Some people also think that trade unions are too political and try to push their own agendas instead of looking after workers.
