Orb (optics)

Have you ever seen those shiny, round balls that magicians use in their tricks? That's kind of like an orb in optics!

An orb is like a little ball of light that appears in pictures or videos. It happens because of the way light behaves when it enters a camera lens.

When light comes into the lens, it has to travel through all these different pieces of glass before it gets to the camera's sensor. Sometimes, the light bounces around inside the lens in a way that causes it to form a little ball shape before it reaches the sensor.

This ball of light is what we call an orb. It can look really cool or a bit spooky, depending on the picture or video it appears in.

Sometimes, people try to explain orbs as ghostly or paranormal phenomena. However, most of the time, it's just a natural occurrence caused by how camera lenses work. So, don't be scared if you see one in a picture!
