Okay kiddo, so when we talk about "Outback" we're usually referring to a really big and empty part of Australia. It's kind of like a desert, but instead of sand there's a lot of dry grass and bushes.
There aren't very many people who live in the Outback because it can be really hard to live there. It's very hot during the day and very cold at night, and there isn't very much water around.
Some people who do live in the Outback are called "Aboriginal people." They have been living there for a really, really long time and have learned how to survive in this tough environment. They have a deep connection to the land and know how to find food and water even when it seems like there isn't any.
People sometimes go to the Outback to explore or to go on vacation. But it's really important to be careful and prepared if you go there because the Outback can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.
