Paleoanthropology is the study of the history of humans and our ancestors. Imagine if you were trying to find out about the people who lived before you and how they became like you.
Paleoanthropologists study things like bones, fossils, and artifacts (which are basically old things that people made or used) to learn more about what ancient humans were like.
They use special tools and techniques to dig up and carefully examine these old things to get information about how old they are, where they came from, and what they can tell us about the people who used them.
Then, they put all of this information together like a puzzle to figure out how humans evolved over time, and how we became the way we are today.
So, paleoanthropology is kind of like being a detective who is trying to solve a mystery, but the mystery is about people who lived a long, long time ago.
