Paleomagnetism

Paleomagnetism is a kind of science that tells us about the magnetic field of the Earth in the past. It works by looking at special rocks that have tiny parts inside them which can show us what direction the Earth's magnetic field was pointing at the time the rock was formed. These tiny parts are like tiny magnets and they "lock in" the direction of the field so that scientists can read it and learn more about the history of our planet.
