Palm wine

Okay kiddo, do you know what wine is? It's a drink made from grapes. But, there is another type of wine called palm wine, which is made from the sap (liquid) of a special kind of tree called a palm tree.

So, people climb up the palm tree and slice off the top part of it to collect the sap. Then, they let the sap sit for a little while so it can ferment, which means that the sugar in the sap turns into alcohol. And voila! You have palm wine.

Palm wine is a popular drink in some parts of West Africa and Southeast Asia. It's usually served fresh, which means it hasn't been sitting around for too long. It's also a bit sweet and has a slightly sour taste to it.

Now, don't forget that even though palm wine is a fun drink, it's still important to drink it responsibly and only if you're old enough!
