The parable of talents or minas is a story that was told by Jesus a long time ago. In this story, there was a wealthy man who was going for a long trip. Before he left, he called three of his servants and gave them some money.
To the first servant, the wealthy man gave five talents (a type of currency back then). To the second servant, he gave two talents, and to the third servant, he gave one talent. Then, the wealthy man left for his trip.
The first servant took the five talents and invested it wisely. After some time, he doubled the money and gave back ten talents to the wealthy man when he returned.
The second servant did the same thing. He took the two talents and invested them well, and he was able to double his money. So, he gave back four talents to the wealthy man.
But the third servant was scared. He thought that if he invested the one talent and lost it, the wealthy man would be very angry with him when he returned. So, he decided to dig a hole in the ground and hide the talent.
When the wealthy man returned from his trip, he asked each of his servants what they had done with the money he gave them. The first and second servants excitedly shared how they had doubled their money.
But the third servant had nothing to show. He presented the one talent he had buried. The wealthy man was mad at him for not using the money to earn more.
The lesson of the story is that we should not be afraid to use our talents and abilities to achieve great things. If we don't use our talents, we cannot grow and develop. Instead, we should use what we have and work hard to achieve our goals.
