ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Parallel parking problem

Parallel parking is like putting a puzzle together to fit your car into a tight spot on the side of the road. Imagine your car is one of those puzzle pieces, and the parking space is the spot in the puzzle where your piece needs to fit.

When you parallel park, you first pull up to the car in front of the space you want to park in. Then, you back up and turn your steering wheel to angle your car towards the curb. You keep backing up until you are almost touching the car behind you, then you turn your steering wheel the other way to straighten out your car and slide it into the parking spot.

The problem is that sometimes the space is too small or the cars around the spot are too close together. This can make it really difficult to fit your car into the space. It requires you to be patient and take your time to maneuver your car into the spot using small movements, until it's just right.

But with practice and patience, anyone can learn how to parallel park!
