Paris Commune

The Paris Commune was a period of time in 1871 when the people of Paris, France, took over the city and made their own rules. They wanted to make a government that was fair to everyone. The Paris Commune lasted for two months before it was taken back by the French army. The Paris Commune was the first time a city was taken over by the people and run by them.
