ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pastoral society

A pastoral society is a group of people who raise and take care of animals as their main job. These people live in places where there are lots of fields and grass for the animals to eat.

Just like when we take care of our pets, people in a pastoral society make sure their animals have food, water, and shelter. They also make sure the animals are healthy and safe from other animals that might want to hurt them.

People in a pastoral society may move around a lot to find new places for their animals to graze. They might live in tents or portable homes that they can easily pack up and move when they need to.

Some common animals that people in a pastoral society might raise are cows, sheep, and goats. These animals provide food like milk, cheese, and meat for people to eat. They can also be used to make clothing and other things like blankets from their wool.

The way of life in a pastoral society has been around for thousands of years and can still be seen in some parts of the world today. It requires hard work and dedication but it can also be very rewarding to take care of animals and provide for your community.
