"Person of color" means someone who has a skin color that is not white. Think of all the colors you see in a rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. People come in different colors just like the colors of a rainbow. Some people have skin that is mostly white, but other people have skin that is brown, black, or even a mix of different colors. So when we say "person of color" we are talking about someone whose skin is a color other than white. It's an important way to recognize and celebrate the diversity of people in our world, and to make sure everyone is treated fairly and with respect regardless of their skin color."
