Pheromones are kind of like special smells that animals (including humans!) make that send messages to other animals. These smells are usually made by certain parts of our bodies, like sweat glands or pee, and they can give different messages depending on the type of pheromone and the
animal that smells it.
For example, some pheromones might tell other animals that you’re feeling happy or excited, while others might tell them that you’re feeling scared or angry. Some pheromones help animals find mates or show that they’re ready to mate.
People don’t usually notice pheromones because they’re very subtle and can’t be smelled consciously. But they can still affect how we feel or behave without us even realizing it! Scientists are still studying pheromones and what exactly they do, but they’ve found that they can help animals communicate with each other and react to their environment in very important ways.
