Hey kiddo, do you know what literature is? It's basically stories and writings that people create! Now, let me explain to you about Phoenician-Punic literature.
The Phoenicians were an ancient people who lived a long time ago in what is now known as Lebanon. They used to write things down on a special kind of paper called papyrus. They made up a lot of stories and tales, but unfortunately, most of them have been lost over time.
Later on, the Phoenicians developed a language called Punic, which was a mix of their own language and some other languages they learned from other people they came into contact with. They started to write in this language too.
Their literature included things like religious texts, chronicles of important events, poems, and even plays. But just like with Phoenician texts, many of them have been lost over time too.
However, some surviving Punic literature has been found. One example is the poem called the "Bilingual Inscription of Eshmunazar." It was written in both Phoenician and Punic and tells the story of a king and his son.
So, in summary, Phoenician-Punic literature are stories and writings created by ancient people called Phoenicians, and later on, their descendants who used a language called Punic, which was a mix of their language and others. They wrote about many things but sadly, most of their writings have been lost over time.
