Photosensitivity in animals

Photosensitivity is when an animal's body is very sensitive to light. It can happen to people too! This means that even a little bit of light can cause discomfort or even pain.

In animals, photosensitivity can happen because of different things. Some animals are more sensitive to light because of their genetics, which means they were born that way. Other animals may become photosensitive because of certain medications or health conditions they have.

When an animal is photosensitive, they might have trouble seeing properly, because bright lights can make it hard to focus. They might feel pain in their eyes, or even get headaches!

One thing that can help animals with photosensitivity is to manage their environment. This means keeping bright lights away from them, and also not exposing them to other things that might trigger their symptoms. For example, if an animal has photosensitivity because of a medication they're taking, the vet might recommend switching to a different medication that doesn't cause this side effect.

Overall, photosensitivity is something that can affect many different kinds of animals. It can be uncomfortable or even painful, but there are ways to manage it and help animals feel better.
