Phrasal verb

A phrasal verb is when two or more words are used together to make a special meaning. For example, the phrase "turn off" means to stop something from working or to stop paying attention to something. If you "turn off" the TV, it means you stopped it from playing shows or movies. Other examples of phrasal verbs are "look up", which means to search for information, and "pick up", which means to get or collect something.
