Pilot (aeronautics)

A pilot is the person who flies an airplane or a helicopter. You know how you ride in a car and someone drives it for you? Well, a pilot is like the driver of an airplane or helicopter. They control the airplane or helicopter to make it go up in the sky, move to one side or another, and land back on the ground. Just like how you use your hands and feet to control your bike or scooter, pilots use special buttons and levers in the cockpit to control the airplane or helicopter. Pilots train a lot and have to be very smart and responsible to keep everyone on the plane safe.
