ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pixel

A pixel is a tiny dot on a screen or an image. When you look at a TV, computer or phone screen, you see lots of tiny dots of different colors. All of these dots together make up what you see on the screen.

A pixel is like a little building block that we use to create pictures on computers, phones or TVs. They are so tiny that we cannot see them with our eyes unless we use a microscope.

Pixels come in different colors and are arranged in different patterns to create different images. When we take a photo or video, lots of pixels all work together to make up the whole picture. The more pixels we have, the better the quality of the image.

Think of your favorite toy blocks that you use to build different structures. A pixel is like one of the blocks that you use to build pictures on a screen. Just like how you can make cool shapes and designs with your toy blocks, you can use pixels to make all sorts of images on screen too!
