ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pizza theorem

Well, kiddo, have you ever seen a round pizza? It has a yummy crust around the edge and it's divided into pieces, right? Now, imagine you take a knife and you cut the pizza straight through the middle, so you have two half-round pieces.

What's interesting is that the pieces have the same amount of crust, even though one is bigger than the other! That's because of the pizza theorem.

You see, the pizza theorem says that if you take any circle - like a pizza - and draw two perpendicular lines through the center, the parts they divide the circle into will have the same total length. That means if you cut a pizza into any number of slices, as long as the cuts all go through the center, each slice will have the same amount of crust.

It's kind of like magic, but it's really just geometry. And it's super handy if you're trying to divide up a pizza with your friends and make sure everyone gets a fair share!
