Place of articulation is how you make different sounds with your mouth. Humans use two things to make sounds with their mouths: air and the parts of their mouth, like the tongue and lips. Place of articulation is about how these parts of your mouth move when you make a sound. For example, when you say the letter 't' you put your tongue against the roof of your mouth. That's called the alveolar ridge and it's one type of place of articulation. So when you say different words you use different places of articulation.
