ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Point-and-click

Point and click is a way to use your computer by moving a little arrow on the screen around and clicking on things with a special button on your mouse or trackpad. It's like using your finger to point at things you see on the screen, but instead you use a tiny arrow.

When you move the arrow over something you want to click on, it might light up or change color to show you that you can click on it. This might be a button, a link to another page, a picture or a video.

When you click on something, your computer will usually do something in response - it might open a new window, play a sound, or move something around on the screen. You might also be able to type things into boxes, like your name or a password, and then click a button to make something happen.

Point and click is one of the easiest and most common ways for people to interact with their computers and get things done. It's so easy that even a 5-year-old can do it!
