ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Police oppression

Police oppression is when the police use unfair methods or too much force to control people. This can look like bullying, stopping people without good reason, not treating people with respect, or using too much force when talking to or arresting people. It can also look like stopping certain groups of people (like people of color) more than other groups or creating new laws that hurt certain groups or prevent them from exercising their rights. Police oppression makes people feel scared, worried, and frustrated.
