ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Polish 1970 protests

So, once upon a time in Poland, some people were not happy with their government. They thought their government was being mean to them and making their lives hard. These people decided to talk to their government about it and ask for things to be better.

But when they did that, the government did not listen to them. Instead, the government sent soldiers and police officers to stop them from talking and protesting.

The people did not like this, so they kept protesting, and the government kept trying to stop them. This went on for a while, and things became very violent and dangerous.

Eventually, the government decided to listen to the people and make some changes. They agreed to make things better for the people, and the protests stopped.

That's basically what happened during the Polish 1970 protests. The people wanted to be heard and listened to by their government, and after many struggles, the government finally acted to make things better for them.
