ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Porglish

Okay kiddo, so you know how different people speak different languages, right? Well, porglish is when people mix the Polish language and the English language together in their conversations. It's kind of like making a tasty soup by mixing different ingredients together!

For example, instead of saying "Dzień dobry" which means "Good morning" in Polish, someone who speaks porglish might say something like "Good dzień!". They're using part of the English word "good" and part of the Polish phrase "Dzień dobry".

Porglish can also happen when people don't know the correct word in one language, so they use a word from the other language instead. For example, they might say "I need to kupić some bread" instead of "I need to buy some bread", because "kupić" is the Polish word for "buy".

So basically, porglish is when people mix Polish and English together in their conversations. It might sound a little silly, but it can be a fun way to communicate!
