Power plant

Okay kiddo, so you know how we need electricity to power our homes, schools, and hospitals, right? Well, a power plant is a really big machine that helps make the electricity we need.

Just like how we need food to give us energy to play, power plants need fuel to make electricity. Some power plants use coal, others use natural gas or oil, and some even use the wind or sun.

Once the fuel is chosen, it's burned to create heat. This heat creates steam, which is just little tiny droplets of water in the air. The steam then pushes against big, tall blades on something called a turbine.

The turbine is kind of like a fan with really big blades that spin around super fast. When the steam pushes against the blades, it makes the turbine spin really fast too. This spinning motion is what turns a generator, which creates the electricity we need.

The electricity then travels through big wires and cables to the places we use it, like our homes or schools.

So, in short, a power plant is a really big machine that turns fuel into electricity by burning it, creating steam, and using a turbine and generator to make power.
