Pre-main-sequence star

Okay kiddo, so a pre-main-sequence star is basically a baby star that's still growing up. Just like you need to eat and drink milk to grow big and strong, a star needs gas and dust to get bigger and eventually become a full-grown star.

Before a star is born, there's just a lot of gas and dust floating around in space. But when these particles come together and start clumping up, they can eventually become a new star. When this happens, the star is still very young and hasn't really started shining or heating up yet.

During this stage, the pre-main-sequence star is growing and getting hotter and hotter as it collects more gas and dust. It's a bit like how a tree gets bigger and taller over time. Eventually, the star will become big and bright enough to start shining and releasing lots of energy.

But for now, it's still a baby star that's just getting started on its journey. Scientists like to study pre-main-sequence stars because they can learn a lot about how stars form and grow, which helps us understand more about the universe we live in.
