ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Principle of least effort

The principle of least effort means that you should always try to work as little as possible to get something done. That means doing things in the simplest, quickest, or most efficient way possible. For example, if you needed to pick up two heavy boxes, you wouldn't want to carry them both at the same time. Instead, you would carry one down the hall and then go back for the second box - that way you use the least amount of effort to do the task.
