Proletarianization

Proletarianization is when people stop having their own businesses or farms and start working as wage earners, which means they are paid a certain amount of money an hour instead of making money by owning their own businesses or farms. It usually happens because people can't make enough money to make a living by owning their own businesses or farms, so they get a job working for someone else. Proletarianization can also happen when a company takes over a small business and makes people work for them instead of running their own businesses.
