Proletariat

The proletariat (pronounced pro-let-a-ree) is a term used to describe a group of people who don't own their own land or property. They mainly earn their money by working for other people, usually for wages that are very low. The proletariat are often seen as being in a lower social class since they have to struggle to make ends meet, so they are usually taken advantage of and oppressed by landlords, bosses, and other members of the upper social class.
