Psychiatric and mental health nursing

Psychiatric and mental health nursing means taking care of people who have problems with their minds and emotions. Like how your parents take care of you when you feel sad, angry, or scared, nurses help grown-up people who have bigger feelings that are causing them trouble.

These nurses learn how to talk with people who are having a hard time and listen to what they say. Sometimes they also give medicine that helps people feel better. They make sure the people they care for are safe and comfortable, and they help them learn skills to manage their feelings.

Just like how you learn how to do things like tie your shoes or catch a ball, people with big feelings can learn skills to help them feel better too. The nurses help teach them these skills so they can feel happier and more balanced.

Overall, psychiatric and mental health nurses help people who are going through a tough time by being there for them, listening to them and helping them learn new ways to cope with their feelings.
