Tidal Model

Okay kiddo, imagine there's a big pool of water, like the ocean. The water in the pool moves around a lot because of something called tides. Tides are caused by the moon and the sun's gravity pulling on the water.

A tidal model is like a pretend version of this big pool of water. People use computers to make these models to try and understand how the tides move and change.

The computers put in lots of information about what's happening in the ocean, like the temperature, the wind, and the shape of the land. Then the computer helps people create a picture of how the water is moving around in the pool, almost like a video game!

Scientists use this model to help them understand what might happen in the future. So, if they want to know how the water levels might change during a storm or if sea levels are rising, they can use the tidal model to give them a good idea.

So, just like how you pretend to play with cars or dolls and create adventures for them, scientists use a tidal model to pretend play with the ocean to help them learn more about how it works!
