Psychology of genocide

Genocide is one of the most terrible things that can happen to a group of people. It is when one group of people intentionally tries to destroy another group because of their religion, race, culture, or other differences. When this happens, it is not just physical deaths that occur, but psychological changes as well. People who experience genocide are affected emotionally, mentally, and behaviorally. They may be more anxious, depressed, traumatized, and may have difficulty functioning in society. They may also develop a sense of guilt and shame, feel betrayed, and be less trusting of others. These feelings can last for years, making it harder for them to rebuild their lives after genocide has occurred.
