The Milgram Experiment was a study done by psychologist Stanley Milgram in the 1960s. It was designed to measure people's willingness to obey authority when asked to do something that went against their conscience. In the experiment, participants were asked to give electric shocks to another person in the experiment when the person made a mistake. The electric shocks weren't real, but the participants didn't know that. The study showed that people were willing to obey authority, even when it meant doing something they felt was wrong.
