ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Belief perseverance

Belief perseverance is when you keep believing something even after you find out more information that proves it may not be true. It's like sticking to your original idea even when new information comes up. For example, imagine you believed your friend was telling the truth about something. But then something new comes up that challenges that belief. Belief perseverance is when you still keep believing your friend even after you find new information that contradicts what they said.
