ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cognitive inertia

Cognitive inertia is when it's hard to think of or do something new or different. It's like a wall between you and something new, so even if you want to try something new, it can be hard to get started. If you want to get better at something, like solving a math problem or playing the guitar, you might have to push yourself past the 'wall' of cognitive inertia and try something different.
