Publishing is like showing your artwork to lots of people. Just like how you show your parents or grandparents what you drew, authors and writers share their stories with lots of people.

But instead of only showing it to their family, they share their stories with lots and lots of people all around the world!

The way they share their stories is by working with a publisher. A publisher is like a giant shop that specializes in sharing stories. They work with the author or writer to make sure that the story is the best it can be, and once it's all done, they get the story out there to anyone who wants to read it.

The publisher is like the conductor of an orchestra. They make sure the books are printed, sent to bookstores, and advertised to people who might want to read them.

So when you go to the library or bookstore and see all the books on the shelves, it's because of the hard work of the author and the publisher who wanted to share their stories with you!
