Pubococcygeus muscle

Okay kiddo, let's talk about the pubococcygeus muscle. It's a special muscle that lives in your pelvis, which is the lower part of your tummy. The pubococcygeus muscle is shaped like a sling, which means it looks like a long, skinny hammock.

This muscle has some really important jobs to do! One of its main jobs is to help control your pee and poop. When you go to the bathroom, the pubococcygeus muscle squeezes your urethra (a tube that carries pee out of your body) and your anus (that’s where your poop comes out). This makes sure everything comes out smoothly and in control.

Another really important job of the pubococcygeus muscle is to support your bladder, which holds your pee. It also helps support your urethra, which is like the pipe that leads from your bladder to your genitals.

The pubococcygeus muscle is also really important for girls and women because it supports their uterus (that’s where a baby grows in a mommy’s tummy). The muscle can even help make sex feel better for both boys and girls because it contracts and relaxes during orgasm.

It’s important to keep your pubococcygeus muscle strong and healthy, and there are exercises you can do to help with that. One of the best ways to strengthen this muscle is by doing something called Kegel exercises. So, if you want to keep your pubococcygeus muscle healthy, don’t forget to practice Kegels!
