Puffed grain

Do you know how popcorn pops when we put it in the microwave? Well, that's because there's a lot of heat inside the kernels, and when the heat gets too much it explodes and becomes fluffy and puffy, right? Now, imagine that same process happening to other grains like rice or wheat. When they are heated up, they too become puffy and light, just like popcorn. That's what puffed grain is! It's grains that have been heated up to a high temperature, and when the heat is taken away, they become puffy and light. They are often used in breakfast cereals or snacks, and they are super yummy!
