ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Qāriʾ

Okay kiddo, so have you ever been to a mosque where people are reciting the Quran out loud? The person who is reciting the Quran is called a qāriʾ, which means a person who reads or recites the Quran.

The Quran is the holy book of Islam, and it is written in Arabic. A qāriʾ is someone who has learned how to read and recite the Quran in Arabic, which is a pretty hard language to learn, but they practice a lot to get really good at it.

A qāriʾ is important because they help people understand what the Quran is saying, and they make sure that the words are spoken correctly. They often lead prayers or recite the Quran during special religious ceremonies.

So if you ever go to a mosque and hear someone reciting the Quran, you can listen and watch carefully, and you will know that the person reciting it is called a qāriʾ.
