ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Quiet quitting

Quiet quitting is when someone leaves a job or organization without telling their boss or colleagues. Instead of telling anyone they are leaving, they just stop coming to work or participating in activities with the organization. Quietly quitting can be a problem because it can be hurtful to the people you work with. It can leave them feeling surprised, confused and even betrayed. It also doesn't give your boss or colleagues a chance to say goodbye or wish you well in your new venture. It's better to talk to your boss and colleagues about why you are leaving and to let them know in advance of your last day. That will help them be prepared for your departure and give them time to say goodbye.
