ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Quzi

Quzi is a dish made with roasted lamb and rice that is very popular in the Middle East, especially in countries like Palestine, Jordan, and Syria. It's kind of like a big party meal that is usually reserved for special occasions like weddings and holidays.

First, they take a big piece of lamb and roast it on a spit until it's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Then, they season it with things like cumin, cinnamon, and allspice to give it a delicious flavor.

Next, they cook some rice separately, usually with some saffron added to make it yellow and fragrant. Sometimes they'll also add things like almonds, raisins, or even onions to the rice to give it some extra flavor.

Finally, they put the lamb and the rice together on a big platter and serve it to everyone at the party. It's usually a really big deal because it takes a lot of time and effort to make quzi, and it's always delicious and special.
