Ranchería

A ranchería is a small place where Native Americans people live. Imagine a small village that has a few houses grouped together. In the past, many Native American tribes lived in rancherías, and they were supposed to be places of family and community. Nowadays, some rancherías are also recognized as tribes by the government, which means that they have more rights and can govern themselves independently. So, basically, a ranchería is a small community of Native Americans people with their own culture, traditions, and way of living, very much like a small town.
