Range imaging

Range imaging is a way of taking a picture that can measure the distance from the camera to the objects in the picture. For example, if you want to take a picture of a room, range imaging can measure how far away the furniture and walls are from the camera. It does this by bouncing light off of things in the picture and measuring how long it takes for the light to reflect back. With that time, it can calculate distances and make a “3D” picture.
