Ransom note

A ransom note is a piece of paper or message that someone sends to demand money from another person. Imagine you have a favorite toy and somebody takes it away from you. Then, they send you a letter saying that if you want to get your toy back, you have to give them some of your allowance money.

Ransom notes are usually written using different letters or words that are cut out from newspapers or magazines. This helps the person sending the note hide their identity because they don't want to be caught. Getting a ransom note can be really scary, but it is important for the person who receives it to tell an adult right away, like their parents or the police. They can help figure out what to do next and try to catch the person who sent the note. Nobody should have to go through something like this, which is why it's so important to trust adults and let them know when something like a ransom note happens.
