Ransomware is a type of malicious computer software, or malware, that blocks access to your computer and files until you pay a ransom. Basically, it is like a computer kidnapper that won't let you access your computer and your important files until you pay money. The bad guys behind ransomware want you to give them money in exchange for unlocking your computer and your files so you can use them again.
