Redox

Redox is a type of reaction that involves transferring electrons from one substance to another. To understand it, you can think of it like a fun game of throwing balls. The balls represent electrons. When one substance has more electrons than it needs, it will throw them away (donate electrons). This is called oxidation. When another substance needs more electrons, it will take them (accept electrons). This is called reduction. This transfer of electrons is called a redox reaction.
