Regeneration is when our bodies can repair themselves after getting injured or hurt. For example, when you get a cut on your skin, your body can make new skin cells to replace the ones you lost. Humans don't have the same regeneration power as some animals, like lizards that can regrow their tails or starfish that can regrow their arms. But humans are still able to regenerate some things, like the liver. Our liver can actually repair itself if it gets damaged! Sometimes, when a person gets sick, their body can even fight off the sickness by making new cells and getting rid of the bad ones. This process of regeneration is a very important part of keeping us healthy and strong.
